Mountain Hares March 6th 2016

March 2016 and a return trip to the Findhorn Valley Scotland, to watch and photograph the wild Mountain Hares again.
I had some free time last week and managed to squeeze in a third short trip to Scotland this year. Earlier in January I was blessed to see close up the beautiful Mountain Hares in snow with their magnificent winter coasts. On this trip in total I spent almost two full days often in difficult weather walking in the Findhorn valley hills, so it was exhausting but I got a real buzz from watching these lovely animals. On March 6th I had a couple of sitters and one in particular after feeding dozed for a while whilst I crawled closer until from around 25' I was able to take some very nice photos using the 100-400 Canon MK2 lens, then the hare turned to look at me for a few seconds, twitched his nose and then slowly turned and hopped away - magic!
